Booms and pom poms help battle oil off Florida coast
Community Content
Booms and pom poms were the main tools used in the fight against oil just 4 miles off of Perdido Key, Fla. Saturday afternoon. VOOs, or Vessels of Opportunity, which consist of area fishermen, shrimpers and local boat owners contracted under BP to assist in the oil recovery, were out in force trying to clean up the oil.
